How to forgive yourself?

Learn to forgive yourself

How to forgive yourself

There is no human being in this world who has not made a mistake in his life. It is normal to make mistakes, but any mistake becomes a crime only when a person persists in his mistake. But once you realize your mistakes, if you forgive yourself, or apologize for your behavior, then of course this process gives you a chance to correct your mistakes.

Many of us know that forgiveness is a good thing, it frees us from bitterness and anger and also frees us from the burden of remorse. Forgiving others can also save us from retaliation, as well as hurtful feelings such as remorse or embarrassment.

"We do not learn to forgive others unless we learn to forgive ourselves."

I know many of you have worked on forgiving others, but you are still struggling to forgive yourself.

Man seeks forgiveness only when he begins to realize his mistakes. But if you can't forgive yourself despite realizing your mistakes, then surely this action of yours will also be called a mistake.

Forgiveness and asking for forgiveness is also the best practice for your peace of mind and spirituality.  Because emotions of bitterness and anger, not only harm human health but also ruin a person's mental and spiritual peace, and the burden of remorse begins to push man towards despair, so' to forgiving others, learn to forgive yourself.

How to forgive yourself?  To know the answer to this question, it is necessary to follow the following tips

1- Eliminate negative emotions

In this wor,ld everyone wants to look better than each other, in this age of competition many people try to outdo others. On the other hand, many people put themselves in pursuit of unfulfilled desires and hurt themselves even when they do not want to. Many times in the desire to be ahead of others, man makes many mistakes even though he does not want to. If we focus on improving ourselves instead of trying to get ahead of others, we will be safe from all kinds of negative propaganda and negative plans.

Man must balance his desires and efforts. Too often we get entangled in negative thoughts in an attempt to achieve our desires. And we make a lot of mistakes even when we don't want to.

That is what y man should examine his emotions when trying to achieve his desires, so that his emotions do not lead him in the wrong direction, or he does not treat himself badly in the race to compete with others.

Doing so gives a person a chance to be accountable, and he avoids many mistakes. But if a person makes some mistakes in the pursuit of his desires, he should immediately assess his feelings, and take a positive approach by freeing himself from negative thoughts by forgiving himself.

2- Accept yourself as you are

No human being is perfect in this world. For example, if a person is 50% angel then 50% is the devil. But men only follow the attributes of the one whom he makes their friend.

The point is, that every human being has flaws as well as strengths. We must accept ourselves with all our flaws and strengths. Because we make more mistakes in trying to conform ourselves to others by hiding our flaws. If we accept ourselves with our reality, we will certainly not consider ourselves inferior to others, nor will we feel guilty for being different from others. Sometimes a person lowers himself from his level to reach the level of others.

That is why we need to accept ourselves, including our shortcomings. And it is important to review the level of others before reaching their level.

3- Give a new chance to yourself

Sometimes people are afraid to try again because of their mistakes and are afraid to give themselves more opportunities. In the same way, a person stops trusting others because of their mistakes of others. Making mistakes is like every human being. No one should give up trying because of his mistakes. Instead, forgive yourself and others by giving new opportunities.

4- Listen to your inner critic

Every human being is equipped with a device that alarms him about right and wrong, that is, our conscience. Whenever we are wrong, our conscience calms us down and tries to make us aware of our mistakes. But many times we deliberately suppress the voice of our conscience and persist in our mistakes.

If we follow the voice of our conscience instead of ignoring it, we will certainly avoid making many mistakes. We must forgive ourselves, vowing to avoid these mistakes in the future, while paying attention to the words of our inner critic.

5- Think of your mistakes as life experiences

Many people in this world learn by making mistakes. No human being is perfect. Many of our mistakes also become the best lessons in life for us.

We should be ashamed of our mistakes, but we should not give ourselves up to regret forever. But we should try to avoid these mistakes in the future by considering our mistakes as bitter experiences in our lives.

By forgiving ourselves, we should try to understand the facts behind our mistakes and try to learn from our mistakes. So that we can avoid these mistakes in the future.

6- Be compassionate

When you realize your mistakes and you admit your mistakes, you need to be kind to yourself. Do not punish yourself for your mistakes, but encourage yourself with the words that, you are not perfect, every human being in this world makes mistakes.

"Accept yourself, instead of judging yourself"

Sometimes a person is afraid to face himself because of his mistakes, which also destroys his mental and spiritual peace. But if we forgive ourselves, and show compassion for ourselves, we will surely be saved from the burden of negative thoughts.

7- Make a plan to correct your mistakes

Always look forward, don't look backward. What passed, passed. Stop blaming yourself, because the accusations will make you feel discouraged for the rest of your life.

To apply Self Forgiveness to practical life, you must formulate a plan to correct your mistakes.  For example,

Make a few points in your daily dairy

* After acknowledging your mistakes, apologize (to yourself and others).

* Try to learn from your mistakes, and you should also try to learn from the mistakes of others.

* Before you make any plans for the future, look at your past mistakes (aren't you going to make the same mistakes again?)

* Listen to the voice of your conscience.

* Consider your way of thinking, whether your thinking is positive or negative (consider the effects of your thoughts)

Conclusion

Every human being in this world makes mistakes. No matter how hard we try to avoid mistakes, we still make some mistakes.

That is why in the QURAN man is commanded to apologize for his mistakes so that his mistakes may be forgiven. If ALLAH ( Subhan wa tala) had not commanded us in the Holy QURAN to ask forgiveness for our sins again and again, then surely man would not be aware of the importance and value of forgiveness.

Because our Creator is aware that man can never completely avoid mistakes, ALLAH has commanded us to ask forgiveness and to forgive each other. And to save us from everlasting remorse and regret, ALLAH has commanded us to spread forgiveness.

And instead of succumbing to the burdens of remorse, keep freeing your mind and soul from all burdens by forgiving yourself and others.
